A True Conservative. Working for You.
“As a freshman legislator I came to Austin ready to work for the people of my district. Even though we had many conservative wins in the 88th Legislature; our work is not finished.
I am running for re-election to strengthen our state in a time where the federal government has failed us on every front. We must protect our Texas way of life and not let anyone’s radical agenda threaten our children’s future.
We need strong and battle-tested leadership in the Texas House. I would be honored to fight for you again. Thank you for your continued support.”
Ben Bumgarner
This last session we worked hard to bring the largest tax cut in Texas history. By implementing policies that promote responsible spending and efficient resource allocation, we can reduce the strain on taxpayers. Additionally, exploring alternatives such as increasing the state's share of education funding could help ease the local property tax burden, making homeownership more accessible for all Texans. Lower property taxes not only benefit individuals and families but also create a more attractive environment for businesses and investors, ultimately stimulating economic development across the state.
Unregulated border areas have led to a surge in activities that threaten national security and challenge law enforcement, including human trafficking, drug smuggling, and other criminal activities. It is our duty to support policies and initiatives that strengthen border security, ensuring that those who come to our country do so legally.
In his first term, Ben co-sponsored the legislation that added billions to Texas' efforts to continue border wall construction and Operation Lone Star.
First responders, such as police officers, firefighters, and paramedics, play a critical role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our communities. In the 88th Legislative session, Ben filed the Wade Cannon Act which would provide occupational cancer screenings for our firefighters. He also supported legislation that protected our police officers and provided resources to recruit and retain good law enforcement officers. In the 89th Legislature, Ben plans to refile the Wade Cannon Act along with other bills that lift up our first responders.
Texas is a national leader in energy production, and by fostering growth in the energy sector, we create jobs, stimulate economic development, and enhance our energy independence. By encouraging responsible exploration and production, we can ensure a reliable and affordable energy supply for our citizens while reducing our dependence on foreign sources. Ben believes that a robust energy sector is not only vital for our state's prosperity but also contributes to the nation's energy security and competitiveness.
Any attempt from the Biden Administration to limit our energy production, is an attack on Texas.
State policy can have a huge impact on small businesses, the backbone of our economy. Ben voted to provide small business owners financial freedom and reducing regulatory burdens to allow them to thrive. Ben is committed to fostering sustainable economic growth, by championing policies that empower small businesses, spark innovation, and keep Texas as the best state to start a business.
